At top left of this wide field frame is NGC 3293, the Gem cluster. This open star cluster glows young stars (blue in colour) and is located 8500 light years away. The incredible expanse of the Eta Carinae's glowing gas which comprises predominately of hydrogen can easily be seen. This images is an LLRGB composite and is the first light image for the new FSQ. |
